Ville Walo
Ville Walo is a Finnish contemporary circus and visual theatre artist based in Helsinki.
Ville Walo is a pioneer, innovator and reformer of contemporary juggling, who in his work
explores new juggling techniques and physical and spatial movement in juggling.
Walo has expanded the expression range of juggling towards visual theatre and object theatre.
Role in WHS
Ville is one of the founding members of WHS and a key artistic force behind the group’s
performances and installations. He also works as one of the artistic directors of WHS
Teatteri Union, the company’s small cinema and theatre by the harbour in Helsinki.
WHS · The group
WHS is a visual theatre and contemporary circus group formed by Ville Walo,
Kalle Nio and Anne Jämsä. The company creates performances, films and hybrid
projects that combine circus, magic, cinema, sound and new media. WHS tours
internationally while keeping Teatteri Union as its home base and laboratory
for experiments in image, movement and sound.
